Lucky them!

 DiL´s plan was to go to an exhibition this morning, and daddy was to pick up his offspring. Only that, when son went downstairs to bring in the daily, he found that the water had almost made it into the house, so both son and DiL had to pick up shovels to create a new groove for the flood coming down from the path behind their house. They were shovelling for quite a while, before they discovered another stream of water that went towards the garage- more shovelling ahead, but it worked. In the meantime number three set more sandbags to barricade the driveway to their house. And it will continue to rain nonstop for two more days...
Hubby was the one who brought the boys back home. Both had slept like logs during night, which was good. I did not sleep well, I was freezing. Outside temperatures went down to three degrees during night, and even though the windows were all closed it was too cold in the bedroom. A few days ago it was 26, the temperature when hubby demands to activate the aircon. Now it´s barely 16 degrees. We did drop from summer to winter in the space of one day! I found out that the boys must have unplugged the infra-red heating panel when playing hide and seek. Pretty sure that it´s Cassian´s work, he is always climbing under my computer desk, turns off the power supply (the red light surely has to be the eye of a dangerous dragon) then unplugs all gadgets in the socket. I hate it when I have to work with a flashlight to plug in again. This time I must have missed the heating panel...

Hubby did not get his glasses back. My guess is that he lost them when putting the boys in their car seats. Now it´s off to the optician on Monday- never knew a man who lost his glasses so often!
This evening we have an invitation for dinner at son´s abode- beef ribs. Probably with a lot of vegetables- Dil has closed down gardening season. I fear courgettes and peppers in store for me!
