Run for your lives!
Oct. 8th, 2024 05:07 pm There's a clear sign when Amazon is on the way to our house. Today daughter had Whatsapped that the transporter was four stations away, so I went to the kitchen window and watched. A few minutes later they came running- three cats at full speed, along the street, up neighbour's garden fence and into safety. On their heels the Amazon car, at full speed also. I don't get it why those idiot cats always run in front of the car instead of fleeing to the neighbouring lawns! But it looks hilarious!
Daughter will come today, but not early enough for jigsawing. We will do a tour to the shopping centre in the evening and pick up a present for Flavius. A small one, because the boy literally has everything. Tomorrow it's early shift day then pick-daughter-up-after-early-shift day, then do not cook lunch day, because there'll be pulled pork burgers at sons in the afternoon. And cake. And caramell icecream, because Flavius wants it for dessert. Told his pa that it had to be caramell, because he had finished my stash of it together with his brother. Kind of nice of him, isn't it?
This night, when I was unable to sleep for a while, I took my tablet and informed my ignorant self about autumn cutting of fruit trees, which must be so much more pleasant than cutting just before sprouting in February, when it´s still wintery outside. So when hubby was off I started with the apple tree, which was not a problem- half of its leaves are already off, so one can easily see the direction the new branch will sprout. Not so with the plum tree. This one grew more than one metre in height this year and has not lost a single leaf. Plus the branches are...real branches which need a saw for cutting. Darn, I should have said yes when hubby volunteered to cut the tree down!
No headache until midday- foehn had died. Only that the darn wind came back in the afternoon. All of a sudden we were up to 24 degrees, and I took the last aspirin and sent hubby out to buy more. Good that it did not take much to get him cycling...
