Early riser
Oct. 19th, 2024 06:28 pm Imagine this- I got up at half past seven even though I did not need to! I enjoyed the half-dark atmosphere outside and the quiet inside- hubby was not exactly softly snoring when I left the bedroom. It was really nice to have breakfast while reading the paper without having to do conversation! Countless years have been spent with talkative children swarming the house in the morning, before they left for school or kindergarten, and we with them. With all offspring out of the house hubby decided he´d better throw himself into the breach and acts as chatterbox now- just what I don´t need. Conversation is fine with me, but not before nine in the morning, please!
In the morning I decluttered three more of the storage boxes in the studio and examined the content of my colouring case. Cassian will have to check out all the gel pens and whatever he wants paint with. Elsa will get a set of crayons and wax crayons at her next visit. I won´t need half of the equipment anymore!
After breakfast hubby got son´s roasted pork knuckle when he set Samsung and Sony free- I only had to do dumplings for lunch and have a good long rest afterwards. If you get up early you have to catch up on sleep, that´s crystal clear!
Later in the afternoon hubby started with loading branches and other clippings onto the trailer, so I did more trimming of the fruit trees and the hibiscus. Who knows what the weather will be like next week! Schnuckele helped me with pruning: while I did the trees she had climbed the catalpa and was pruning my hair from above...
Now that we are far into October fog will set in each afternoon after four. Until then it had been sunny and reasonable warm today. With the fog it got dark rather quickly. I am already dreading the 27th of October, when we will head back to standard time...
