Super market 1- farmers 0
Oct. 24th, 2024 05:14 pm We have bought two big pumpkins for Cassian and Flavius´ Halloween carving. One hailed from the local farmer and was five euro straight. The other came from the super market for four euro. Both spent their time near the entry door- sheltered from rain, of course. Today farmer´s pumpkin went into a soup for lunch- it had started rotting away, and only a third of it was edible. Pumpkin number two looks still good. The other pumpkins, bought for autumnal decorating, are also decomposing faster than expected- we will need to buy more of them this week. Sorry, but this time I will buy them at the super market, where one will get edible hokkaidos at the price our farmer demands for pumpkins grown for decoration mostly. Pumpkins are not that hard to grow, but the prices are quite high this year. I think we will sow them ourselves next year...
Son number three is driving me up the wall with his antics. Two days ago he wrote ´We are coming on the 24th of December´. No ´Is it okay when we come´ (which it is, albeit it gets complicated). Next Whatsapp message was ´What will we have to eat´? Beg your pardon, but it´s two month until Christmas, how am I to know what I will be cooking then! Today number three called hubby. Husband is supposed to drive to Pölten and bring son and grandson to health cure to Upper Austria. Pardon me again, but doesn´t son have a nice e-car to drive there himself? I don´t get it...
Since we got the news that this year´s Christmas will be even more hectic than usual with so many people in the house, husband mine wants to refurbish the guestroom- minus the removal of the piano, which still waits for getting moved to Pölten. Only when this will happen I can contemplate the acquisition of a new cabinet. Pity that we did not bring the piano to Pölten before the flooding- it would be history now. Elsa does not have the stomach to go through years of piano lessons, just like her father!
