Miss Garlic...
Oct. 29th, 2024 06:22 pm ...at your service! Hubby has been to his favourite butcher for meat for more bacon. I had to peel two heads of garlic and crush them. Worst garlic ever did not want to get peeled. My fingers were smelly. My clothes, too, but those I was able to change. Not so with my fingers! I have scrubbed them, but it did not help so much.
I also reorganised my Chinese and Korean cooking ingredients. Those had been stored in a huge plastic box- very complicated to get to the ingredients I needed. There´s a shelf in a cupboard which contained an old coffee maker and a vegetable slicer. Slicer is on the way to the cupboard in the basement. Coffee maker is on the way to the bin. All cooking ingredients are sorted and easily accessible now. I am delighted!
After sorting and later dusting I went in search of a text I had written some time ago. At the moment I make use of three external drives and four USB memory sticks. The text is on none of them, it´s simply nowhere to be found. I think a big search operation is due after the autumn holidays have ended. Until then my schedule is fully stretched- grandchildren duty, help out at number one (why is this one always to holiday when craftsmen need access to the house), dentist appointments, family meetings with lots of cooking- and just now my sister called to tell me that BiL´s health cure will not start tomorrow, because the application form only arrived today at the medical insurance company (which is a lie- sis got the confirmation for the date of the cure six weeks ago). The next free start date will be in the middle of November. After all sis had applicated more than two months ago, when the date of the operation got fixed. What the heck! The man is over eighty and now has to live in a flat, where most things are still packed in boxes! There has been a reason to why sis and her husband had applied for those dates! So the two will spend some quality time at our house, so that BiL won´t start with unpacking, which will be harmful to his health. And because it´s so much fun to bug me one of my ex-students will stop by on Thursday- she is at daggers drawn with her family once again. Now what am I, a wailing wall?
