The slight pain in my right shoulder which I always feel started to worsen during the last days. Today I woke, and here it was again- I can move my right arm forwards and backwards, but not to the side. That will make for a nice car driving tomorrow. Hubby has added the kilometres we will have to do and came up to 750. So I am the one who is supposed to do the shortest passage, the one back home from St. Pölten. I hope the pills I will ingest will be of use!
I had to do some errands over the border in the morning, so I included nut shopping at Aldi. For Sunday I have to do a Malakofftorte MiL-style. At least hubby allowed me to replace the butter with quark. Otherwise none other but hubby would eat that thing!
Husband mine has started to bring the boxes with Christmas decoration up from the basement. Now the living room resembles a storehouse, angels and tinsel everywhere, the occasional stag without doe making for a rural atmosphere. Here out in the not quite boonies we are not into Santa and the like. We prefer stags and does, angels and greenery (the real one, not the one made of plastic). And no Christmas tunes before the first Sunday in Advent. Only daughter is allowed to keep me happy with playing them at 3:30 in the morning. There may be some exceptions with decorations this year, but it depends on how much child sitting will be involved the next two weeks. Not that I don't appreciate Cassian's help- the boy is quite adapt at decorating and crafting, but DiL has put up a new ruke- it's either take both boys (the younger one hard to supervise) or get none. Hubby always goes for the second option...
I am up to three tiny scarfs now, but will need at least twenty of them. I will take with me the standard travelling bag- asthma spray and coffeine pills for not falling asleep behind the steering wheel. Since Matthäus is my godchild I bought him Matchbox cars. And since tomorrow it´s Elsa´s name day there´s a Schleich horsie in the bag with a long mane that can be combed. Or cut. Elsa loves combing. My sister would have cut all that hair. I cannot even remember a single Barbie that did not look like a swab, when she got her hands on her- that´s why I had a lockable trunk for my dolls. I also will pack wool and needles, maybe I can do some knitting during our trip. Anyway, I will be able to knit only until son and grandson will get picked up- from then on chaos will reign. Which reminds me that I should add earplugs to the travelling bag. We will start at seven in the morning, to be able to pick up pizza for me and daughter on the way back home in the early evening. Since Wednesday is early shift day, daughter as well as I want to go to bed early- but a belly full of pizza has counter-productive effects on sleep.
