Fact is...
Jan. 13th, 2025 05:16 pm ...that I am even slower with undecorating than decorating. Granted, there´s a lot of things that have been put up for our grandchildren, but usually I take a cardboard box and shove in the things next to me- which makes retrieving a bit hard. Then there´s the distinct smell of basement that comes with unpacking- hubby manages to create one or more disasters concerning water which does not belong in the basement. Be it an open window (never me who leaves them open, can´t even reach them) during a thunderstorm, a forgotten flap that lets rainwater in... So today I took my car and drove to KIK. They always have plastic containers for storing. Could not find them first, but a nice lady showed me the way. Also got me two nightshirts! Potter tree is dismantled now, most of the baubles are boxed. The yodelling nutcracker factory and the skating rink are stowed away. I am so proud of myself! Meanwhile hubby was studying the development of gas price. The last years hubby was very adamant at keeping the heating low, which was easy, because the winters were quite mild. This year the weather is a tad colder and hubby was all hahaha about heating, which led to me freezing in the studio in the afternoon and sleeping without duvet during night, because it was so hot in the bedroom. Today hubby noticed that we waste too much gas for his liking. Since then he is studying- this does not bode well for the rest of the winter!
At the moment it is cold outside and will stay so until Wednesday. I am not happy about it, I want spring, even though I know that it will be at least two more month of winter for us. Besides, the most snow will usually come in March- as if the seasons have shifted! Since it was so cold hubby decided that working outside in the afternoon surely would cause another bout of cold- so outside he went, to deinstall the rest of the Christmas lights, to look for the missing bird feeder, to tidy the garage, if only a bit. Darn it, the highest we got today was minus two! Must this man really risk his (and my) health, because he is bored? Or is it because I forbid him to go grocery shopping? There´s so much on the storage racks and in the freezers that we can carry on without shopping for weeks at least! After his excursion into the cold hubby was off with his car. Came back home with a package containing smaller packages with activated carbon. He has watched videos on Youtube about toilet cleaning. Oh dear, something must be seriously wrong with this man. Bored or not- watching cleaning videos is idiotic (squared), especially if one constantly ignores the most important rules for keeping the toilet urine deposits free, which is proper flushing...
