Oct. 3rd, 2025 06:49 pm Went to bed late again- it feels as if I am back to younger days, when I went sleeping after midnight yet got up early (because I was not allowed to cut school). Only that the part with the getting-up-early does not happen. So I dragged myself down for breakfast at seven thirty, only to decide that hubby would have to go to the flea market alone. Half an hour later he did a video call and asked if he should buy a puzzle- it was the one he himself had brought to the flea market the day before, because we already had it in the house (he had bought one we had already at the spring flea market). Oh dear...After some annoying but necessary housework daughter and I started with the quidditch book nook she gave me for my birthday. First we were not able to start the constructing, because daughter wanted to do the jigsaw of doom first. And then she was off for holidaying and I finished the jigsaw all alone. Afterwards husband dearest repurposed the table in the conservatory as his work station. Now that the conservatory is cleared again it was high time to start with the book nook. It´s fun to put it together. Complicated fun. Like Lego 18+, for which one needs to have very nimble fingers. We managed to do about a third of the pages. Unfortunately daughter, whose fingers are nimbler than mine, will go back to her flat tomorrow. Too bad that the book nook constructing will be on hiatus till next week!
DiL was at the flea market in the morning- hubby met her there. She was also there at midday, because she called for hubby´s help just before we were having lunch (noodles with salmon)- she had bought a huge painting (she needs the frame only) she was not able to load into her car. So my car was off after lunch, and I had to postpone the trip to a shopping centre to tomorrow. Or Monday maybe. Depends on if I will go to the flea market tomorrow morning. But hubby was highly amused- he had waited for DiL´s call for quite a while and finally decided to drive to the family´s house. And what did he find when driving there? DiL plus grandsons- all three at the flea market again, when she had told him they´d be at the playground, but only for a short time. That woman must be addicted to such markets! Hubby called son instead, and together they unloaded the painting. Car was back soon after, but too late...
Question of the day: What does a Schleich elephant do in my wardrobe? Found it plus a gorilla family amidst my T-shirts, when I sorted some of them into the box for summer clothing. Some of the prints on the shirts are wild, but attracting wildlife? I´will have to ask Cassian and Flavius why those animals deserted to a place none of the boys are allowed into...
BTW: This morning the cars´ front windows were covered in white frost- it was one degree only. It got sunny and warmer during day, but at the moment we are back to seven degrees. Do I really have to like autumn?
