What should have been...
Oct. 4th, 2025 06:59 pm ...a quick shopping trip over the border, into German territory- daughter and I decided it might be a fun trip and also long overdue- turned into a four hour torment. Apparently Germans are in fear of starving in case a Friday is an official holiday. And since daughter and I did slide viewing instead of watching boring TV programme none of us remembered about the holiday and that masses of people would run the shops over this morning. So we drove to the flea market first (daughter bought herself a brandnew rice cooker and a llama flower pot), before we arrived at the shopping centre over the border and had to drive in circles for ten minutes to get a parking spot. Inside the building it got even worse- some people are definitely lunatics! But we got what we wanted: a jigsaw for Flavius's birthday (a Bluey one, he loves the series), the needed toiletries (lots of, mostly for daughter), vegetables (daughter) and fruits (for me), affordable cat goodies- we need them to get the cute white cat out of the house after her morning visits- and then there was the long wait at the cash point. The very long wait- never again, I thought, and daughter immediately began to google the Christmas Holidays to avoid more shopping disaster. At least we had bought lunch before entering the shop, when the Turkish restaurant had just opened and not many customers were ordering. When we left, the rows of costumers were endless...
We had lunch at home .then rested in front of the TV, daughter packed some clothing for autumn then left for her flat. She was to meet up with friends at this year's Night of the Museums. Hubby went there, too, I refused. My feet hurt. The museums here are boring, if one has been there too often. This is the only day of the year I miss Vienna with it's huge number of museums! Yet I wish hubby, daughter and friends well. None of them had a look at the weather forecast which spoke of strong winds and hard rain. It was sunny all afternoon long, but now it looks very much like rain. At least it's not as cold as the days before...
