Poor rascals!
Mar. 25th, 2026 05:59 pm Hubby brought our old DVD player to DiL2 this morning. Got a list of when we will have to watch over the boys- and there's one afternoon next week, when one of us has to pick the lads up at day care- because mummy can't take care of her boys because she does another exhibition. Imagine- the boys are at after-school care all week long. And the one week of school holidays they should be at home and able to enjoy themselves they are in day care again- as if mummy could not have done her painting the weeks before. Please remember- mummy is not working in a regular job. But you will find her at shops, flea markets, exhibitions practically each day. But the one week the boys won't have to attend school and kindergarten mummy has to paint. If I were her child I'd quit...
I was lazy all morning, only did a bit of house cleaning- too tired, since I had to get up at three, came back home after four and had breakfast at seven thirty, all the while having a medium headache because of the foehn, which blew all night long- a sure sign that weather was about to change from good to bad. Well, hello, aspirin! I put the big puzzle back into the box, to have the conservatory ready for next week, when the house will be swarming with family- blessedly not all members at the same time. Chaos will start on Wednesday and last till Tuesday after Easter. In old age I'd really love to have one of the High Holy Days for myself only...
Hubby was biking along all day long. He must be very upset that he won´t be able to do so for quite a while from today on. Meanwhile I was checking the garden for things that might take off, if the change of weather would come with extra strong winds. But all was in place, and I had a last coffee then went upstairs and turned my PC on for a bit of Youtubing- and that was when the cold front finally arrived. Temperatures dropped from ninetenn to seven degrees in the space of an hour, and it was a good thing that the jigsaw parts that had been stored on the old desk in the upper antechamber were already in the box- a bit of water made it onto the wooden surface. Wood can tolerate a bit of water, cardboard definitely not. Hubby on his bike shot into the garage like a missile, but soaking wet. He quickly changed clothes then ignited a fire in the wood oven. At least it´s warm in the living room now and I won´t have to wait for a cosy hearth fire until a quarter to eight- that´s the time when husband mine will take the matches in hand. A quarter to eight exactly, because then the daily news programme is finished...
