I don´t know how often I have harassed you with pics of snow, but here are the next ones coming!

That´s what I got to see this morning...

I so love the sight of snowy hills...and the sun blind husband dearest has installed already, in hope of many sunny days to come.

Apparently this winter did not want to move in in the beginning, and now he has decided that he likes it here in Europe, thank you very much. It is freezing cold outside, zero degrees exactly, and even though most of the snow that came during night has melted away there´s no improvement in sight because already more snow is on the way. Hubby has evacuated the palm trees into the carport, covering them with plastic sheets, because we might be down to minus six during the upcoming nights. That´s bad, indeed, because the a lot of fruit trees have begun to flower already. Heat is on and running again, which is frustrating after the few but quite warm days we have had. Easter Monday afternoon we spent on the terrace, having coffee and cake in short sleeves, when all of a sudden a storm came on and we had to seek refuge inside. All night long the blinds rattled and kept hubby and me awake. At least Tuxedo cat postponed his nightly walks across our garden, accompanied by loud meowing. Cat is not fond of storms, highely likely he spent the night in his cat bed in the garage, waiting for the moment the blinds get opened and food materialises right under his nose.
My task for this week is using up the surplus things hubby bought for Easter because he meant too well, as always. Asparagus twice as much as needed, mirepoix (why buy one when there´s buy one, get one free), four bottles of whipping cream instead of two, and then there´s the black pudding no one save husband dearest wants to eat. Only that not even hubby is able to scarf a whole kilogram down in one go...
Since we had more guests than expected- only number two plus family had announced to come, but on Monday number one and family said they´d love to drop in for a visit, too, accompanied by number two again (not permitted according to Covid rules, but who am I to send my children back home)- hubby had a hard time to provide chocolate bunnies enough for all of us. Friday bunnies aplenty, Saturday none in the grocery shelves! Hubby did a Tour de Shop which lasted for two hours, and all he got was twelve itsy-bitsy chocolate rabbits. That´s the price we have to pay, because shops offer those from January on so the moment they are needed they are out of stock. The worst case of a jump start I detected last year, when a shop offered Easter decoration and sweets for sale three days after Christmas. Our world has turned into a mad one. And those who thought that Covid would restrain the hecticness of life have been proven wrong. We cannot dine away from home, we cannot travel (technically we can, but hotels are still closed), but we are still allowed to shop- and shop we do, and plenty at that!

I, too, love watching snow-covered hills — from a safe distance. Or on television.
Stupid weather is really inconvenient. I fear to imagine what fruit prices will be like this year. As if food prices hadn't skyrocketed already...

The safe distance is the problem, because the hills are too close to our house for my liking.

Beautiful, but a lot more snow than you would want by now, I reckon!

If I had my way snow should fall a bit more North of where I live. Snow is overrated, The only time I´d like to have some is at Christmas time, but there hasn´t be any of it for years now.
