Or, maybe, DiL doesn´t get it. She is contemplating when she will finally be able to go to Bucharest with our next grandchild, to let it be baptised there. In her case I´d be rather worried about the health of the babe, and now that she knows that something might not be okay even more than ever! She can have an orthodox christening here, too. Woukd be less complicated and way cheaper than wanting the family pack up their suitcases for a three day stay in Romania, and in times of Covid at that!
Since autumn will be in full swing soon we have begun to clear the garden from summer tools. Half of the garden chairs and the sunbeds are stored in the garage now. We don´t need that many chairs when the sun will reach the terrace after midday only and be gone before five again! The water play will stay until October, because we will have Cassian regularly from now on. But the myriad of sand toys got packed away- we had to close down the sandpit which got turned into an outdoor litter box by all the cats of the neighbourhood since the covering broke. We will have to buy a new, sturdier one next year. I am not that happy that the garden begins to look like the one we had when our children were young, but hubby loves it... Tomorrow I will also put my old flower pots on the trailer so that hubby can cart them off. Less flowers, less work...
I managed to to the second sleeve of Elsa´s jacket. Still do not know how I will knit the cap, and even less how to fasten it to the jacket. I will have to buy a set of needles of the right size and begin to knit from the tip of the hat down to the cuff, then see what will happen... you see, I am a kamikaze knitter, but as long as the outcome is positive I will keep up the wild ride!

Your DiL reminds me of the wife of Little Emma's uncle. They had a solid existence in Germany, finally had a child, and then, out of the blue, she decided that she was missing her friends and didn't like it there anymore. So they came home after I dunno how many years, without thinking through everything properly, without actual preparations, and now they have to start things from square one again. At the age of 40, with a one-year-old who's German citizen, living in the weekend house of the family at Lake Balaton, from where he has to come back to Budapest once a week because of work...

I am not so sure if I´d miss my home country so much. Have you ever seen those clips on Youtube, where people build a new homestead for themselves off grid? Thirty years younger, and I might give it a try!
