Once again our state is on red light alarm. Too many cases of Covid, they say. Yet we are clearly below the seven-day incidence of other states, which means that this is done as a warning to bigger, more important parts of the country- sort of´Look what happens if you will not increase the number of vaccinations´! Alas, since there have been so many lies told and so few benefits been seen with the immunisation a lot of people still think it´s not worth the hassle, which is not true, though the outcome is not as good as expected. Our Federal Chancellor always talks about the light at the end of the tunnel he sees (for one year straight so, though there is none) and the vaccination being a game changer (also not true, or we would not row back to old Covid rules already, though for a while he will pretend to let those who got vaccinated run on the long lead). But it´s true, one million people more vaccinated, and we can pretend that covid is no more dangerous than the flu, like it is practised in Denmark or Sweden. Which reminds me that apparently the flu did not make it into the country last winter. At first we were told that this was because people stormed the pharmacies to get the vaccine. Today a reliable daily paper brought forth the correct numbers: only three percent more flu vaccinations, and in March tons of the serum had to be disposed of. I only hope that our glorious politicians won´t come up with the idea that those lockdowns had been extremely effective in connection with influenza and will order a repeat!
Knitting project is on standstill. I now have a jacket, and I have a cap. I still have not found a way ho to connect the two. I also might have to modify the neckline. I have to say that I really, really hate this project. Especially because the yarn is made of 60 percent wool which I am allergic to. I already have blisters on my forefingers....

Your poor fingers! I hope you'll force your knitting project to its knees eventually.

Over here, we look with official optimism at the Covid situation... although case numbers are steadily climbing and people have started dying from it again. I chose to wear a mask when I have to take the bus or when I go to the shops (rare though both occasions are). Mum and I decided against getting a third jab, since opinions are so widely different about it. We don't want to be guinea pigs... or the waste heap where they get rid of the vaccine they couldn't use up. Perhaps we're wrong; I don't know. But this still seemed to be the lesser evil.

I think I will risk a third stab. They are practically forcing us to do so. No stab, no public life, that´s what we are going to have if no one can stop our politicians.
