Hubby is intent on keeping the main stem of poor Tiny Tim for a May pole! Means that we´d have this absurdity with a few branches on top, which surely will be dead by then, lying in the garden for almost three months. The rest of the tree is either already at the recycling depot (all of the branches) or stacked in the woodshed. As expected, hubby did not wear gloves when loading the branches into the trailer, though I told him to do so, because these parts of this sort of tree are quite poisonous. The result is a multitude of itching pustules on my husband´s arms. Serves him well, I warned him!
I bought three more balls of wool in case I´d need more than expected. What I did not expect was that apparently more mums and grandmas are doing blankets and little jackets, too, and now the pretty violet colour is sold out and won´t be available for the next weeks. I called two wool shoplets, but no such luck, they stock another brand. Last chance would have been a 40 km trip into Germany, but I resorted to daughter´s suggestion to simply bring pink back into play. There´s enough of it to finish the main body of the blanket. No money spent on wool, no diesel blown into the air. I am so proud of myself!
Hubby is such a nic man! Today he came back from shopping with pizza donuts and all sorts of snacks for Super Bowl next week, though until now he has never before watched the spectacle. Um... could it be that he wants to feed me to death? I better eat nothing for the next months, to get rid of at least some of those extra pounds! I have been overweight for a long time, but Covid was the final straw!

Date: 2022-02-05 06:20 pm (UTC)Why is it that one can never get exactly the colour of wool — or anything, in fact — one would need? I wanted to buy some more of those pale rosa Bastelpompons at Kik... but of course all they have left are dark red, light green and grey ones. Which is annoying, because these pompons are fixed on a narrow band of the same fabric and colour and are so very practical for seaming stuff!
