...until I decided to bring the knitting to the PC table and do all work there, because I am able to easily enlarge the pattern of Cassian´s cardigan this way. It´s almost impossible to follow the pattern otherwise. You can´t hardly read the printed one with its tiny squares you have to count because of the fir trees in the pattern and the inconstant decrease of numbers of stitches. All will hopefully be well now, the back part of the first cardigan is almost finished.
It was quite a shock when we heard of the Queen´s death yesterday evening, for me, because I thought that she had done an excellent job and has been an icon who was not to die, to hubby, because all the shows he loves got cancelled. I think I haven´t spent an evening without crime story for many months!
Today I tried a different tactic when coming home from the airport- I made me a cup of coffee, read the dailies, chatted with daughter via Whatsapp, did a lot of things that should make me tired, but no such luck. I went to bed at six, read a bit on my ebook reader and finally fell asleep around seven, only to get woken by Cassian´s call on my mobile at eight. They´re back, hale and hearty, though I did not understand much of what the boy tried to tell me, because his younger brother was constantly trying to get to the mobile, and when he took a time out, he began to squeak as loud as possible. Oh dear, I so missed this sound! DiL wanted to take me to a vernissage in the evening, but I had to opt out. Not today, not on Sunday, not on Monday. As I already told, September is the month of early shifts, all done by the young staff, because the experienced one is on vaccation now. So glad that dearest daughter mine has decided against going to London next week. That might have turned into a special experience. It was strange enough for us to spend the week before William´s wedding in town. Oh dear, but now we know that the Brits love their Royals!
