Daughter is here for a visit until tomorrow! We haven´t seen and heard about her for almost two weeks in a row. Hubby had to pick her up in town for the return of the bedding she had borrowed from us, when three of her friends had come for a visit. I was late today with housework, even though hubby had wiped the floor on the main floor. But I spent a lot of time with watering and pruning the plants in the conservatory- those plants which hubby had brought out in March had to be brought back in soon after, because strong winds had destroyed the protective foil hubby had installed plus it was too cold anyway to leave them out. Then there was too much rain, and no one wanted to get soaked when dragging those pots out. Now rain is off and sun is here full force- and we have to wait for rainy days again, or the palms, olive- and lemon trees will get a sunburn!
For lunch we did the shortened version of Chicken Patiala- without fenugreek greens, because I must have missed when the last package got used up. Daughter loves Indian dishes, but honestly, if your kitchen is a tiny one with next to no place for storing spices- forget about cooking Indian style, better go to hotel Mama! Tomorrow we will do Japchae- hubby found sirloin steak in the freezer he is about to empty out, because he needs it for the bacon. I think that I will wander between kitchen and TV room, torn between cooking and coronation ceremony. I will be housebound the whole day anyway- no way I will be driving along with a car packed as if for moving- shelves, steam cleaner, cleaning agents and the additional summer wear son did not want to take with him at the last visit. And four bottles of mead I bought in my favourite shopping centre. Number four loves mead, but it´s too expensive for him to purchase.
I did a bit of knitting in the afternoon and finally finished back and front part of Elsa´s jumper. I also started with the sleeves, both of them, because I have to knit them at the same time to watch the gradient- this yarn is so odd to look at but so very easy to knit with! If only I had chosen the more vibrant colours!
