heat wave

To those in California, Texas, Arizona (hello, remote cousin!) etc., who suffer from the current heat wave: Please wrap up about 15 degrees Celsius (you can take the same amount in Fahrenheit, but be careful when converting) and send the parcel to Middle Europe. We are freezing our tails off. Yesterday morning we had three degrees, in some regions ground frost (cannot make up my mind if that´s been the last one of the preceding cold season or the first of the new one). Not a day above 13 degrees for one week now. I have to open the doors to the rooms by force, because the wooden floorboards have undergone upwelling due to the humidity caused by constant rain. It will get better, they say, but unfortunately only for a short period of time. Plus: where I live autumn makes its appearence in the middle of August! Now if I´d only find out the hiding place of this year´s summer! I´d drag that lad out by his ears and tie him up to my veranda! Four hot days are most certainly not enough to refuel my batteries to get through next winter!
