While typing this entry I had to close the studio´s window- it is entirely too cold outside for high summer- 14 degrees and plenty of rain again. It will get better tomorrow, but the constant hot-cold is getting up my nose. I really shouldn´t have packed all of my warmer clothes away. As much as I love fresh air- but sitting in the cold draft in a T-shirt only will induce another cold with me. Yesterday´s BBQ with friends did not happen out of the same reason, we had to put the satay sticks into the oven- outside is was pouring with strong winds. This summer is no fun at all!
I am a bit down today. I forgot to turn my mobile to mute, so daughter´s ecstatic message concerning tumults in Vienna after the football match came through at a very inappropriate time- it was two in the morning, party time for her but sleeping time for her mother! Darn football, darn Turkish rambos! Not that ours are that much better, but there are definitely less of them on the streets! At six in the morning DiL number three began to post birthday pictures of her husband. I would not have minded if she had done so some hours later into the morning. But the two families with younger children began to post their birthday wishes then, too, and son and DiL happily gave their thanks, that´s why my mobile rang and rang, and hubby seethed and seethed, while I was simply too lazy to get up and turn the phone off. Darn Whatsapp groups...
Son postponed his visit, because he went to a festival with friends, so I did not have to cook today, because there´s leftovers from yesterday. Yay, more satay sticks for us! Yesterday evening I did not have that much appetite anyway, comes with not being used to eat late...
I may complain about having the boys at our house too often and therefore not being able to indulge in my hobbies- but I got to learn that, when they are here, I will at least manage to squash in a bit of those things I like, similar to a act of defiance. While I will do exactly nothing when I am free of obligations- isn´t that strange? So I swear to do better in the near future. No use to get into a fret about things that cannot be averted, because the boys´ mother cannot cope with two of them at the same time, and my husband wants to rectify what he has missed with his own children. Once the boys are in school things will get easier for me and worse for hubby- all of our grandchildren will attend full-time school, which usually ends at four in the afternoon. There´s still young Flavius, who will start kindergarten in autumn. But one child alone definitely cannot wreak as much havoc as two or more will do...
