noadvertising | Altering plans, altering patterns...

Not so my day, though it could have been worse. I had planned to do a trip to some clothes shops- I realised that a lot of shirts did not fit anymore, and in a bad way. I am in need of new ones but, contrary to husband mine, I do not order them on Amazon- I want to decide if I like the feel of the fabric. But then a friend I had not met for a while called. I told her it would be nice to meet up again, and she thought of it as an invitation and decided to come this afternoon at three, as usual, so that I still was able to have an after-lunch nap. How considerate of her, but I thought of meeting her during the weekend but was too civil to tell her this. I did the usual household chores, cleaned the bathroom then took my shawl to continue crocheting. Only that I realised that since I had decided upon the correct wool but on a crochet hook too small the shawl would look like a baby bib worn the wrong way round. So I had to alter the pattern- more honeycomb rows then (hate those) and a bit of unravelling, because I had already started the double crochet rows. Found dumplings filled with beef in the freezer and served them with yogurt sauce for lunch. There also was apple strudel, which I warmed up in the oven, so no real baking had to be done. Then up to the bedroom for a short rest it was, and here my friend was, half an hour early. It was nice to have a chat, but honestly, I was glad when she finally left at six. That lady is a fount for gossip, and while gossipping can be nice, doing so for more than three hours is exhausting. Even more so since she did all the talking and I had to listen to stories about people I do not even know. when she left, I was too tired to do the daily round on my exercise bike. The poor thing is in the process of falling apart anyway, I sincerly hope that it will bear up for some more weeks, before it falls apart...
