Gah! Everybody talks about IPhone autocorrect fail. What about Word? There´s a looong fic on my hard disk that needs finishing. No elves, no Sephiroth, no Toki, sorry! All about Wraeththu, a relic of bygone times. But each time I try to write the word Gelaming, Word rearranges the letters, and I get the word gleaming instead. Gelaming might be gleaming, but replacing a Wraeththu tribe´s name with an adjective does not make any sense. An anagram, but an annoying one! Did I already mention I really, really like the Gelaming? And that I use this word quite often? And that I am easily driven up the wall? That´s why I´ll quit now and drive to the cinema, to finally watch the Hobbit, before I´ll blow my PC!

You can tweak your auto correct settings so stop that. I'd actually add words like that to your dictionary in Word so it automatically accepts it. If you're on Word 2010, it's on the File tab, then Options, then Proofing, then autocorrect options. Uncheck to automatically use corrections from spelling checker.

Once you turn off the auto correct, you'll be able to get an option to add those words to the dictionary by right clicking on the red underlined words.
