Today is Elsa's seventh birthday- time flies! WhatsApp messages were sent to the family group from early morning on. I should have thought of this by turning my mobile to mute- alas, I didn't. That´s why I was up early again. Seems to be my new routine, and I think it's a good one! To bed around ten, an hour of reading, up at seven. And I won't fall asleep in front of the TV the moment I have finished my last calcium drink of the day. No more asking hubby who had been the killer (we do bets at the middle of a thriller). Another early shower followed by the daily sudoku (too easy) and a crossword puzzle, then I dressed and drove to the apothecary to pick my medication up. Afterwards a last trip to Kik- my favourite one with the big parking space is closing down at the end of the month. That's the second store in the space of a few month- should I be worried? I loved to buy baby clothing there- good that we are running out of babies! For decoration we have lots of Tedi- and Action shops now- too many I think!
Back home I finally tackled the pruning of the plum tree, which is already close to flowering. Hubby helped me- some of the branches were quite thick and needed a saw. Tree is much shorter and will definitely be in a sulk now. Tree, I don't give a sh.. about you sulking. You better produce fruits this year, or you'll be history soon! Tomorrow I will prune the apple tree. This one has fruits, albeit worm-ridden ones. With this I can cope...
Lunch came straight out of the fridge (and got sold by Lidl). I only had to do the salad. Half an hour of power-resting aka reading seemed enough to get me running again. I was up to three boxes for the flea market in the afternoon. Our living room is a bit untidy at the moment. Hopefully no visits tomorrow, Sunday we will be off to family number three, and on Monday hubby has promised to take the boxes to the parish. And bring me new ones to continue decluttering. What followed then was a classical error on my side. I had had coffee and a tiny cookie and felt like watching TV would be nice (that alone should have made me suspicious- usually I won´t watch TV during day). There was a programme about a lost colony on Roanoke Island and the search after, and that recent genetic tests had proved that the colonialists must have left their settlement then mingled with the natives there. Apparently, they found quite a lot of male descendants with both native and the British heritance, wearing the names of the lost colonialists even. This information must have been so very hard to assimilate that I promptly started a lengthy nap from which I woke at five in the afternoon. And only, because hubby had rung the bell- he had been working on the new lawn mower and had locked himself out. And he had even repaired the new toy I had ordered for Matthäus via Amazon, the one that had been defect. I can be at rest now- the cars swallowed up by the dino can now slide back out (the orange part was broken off on one side but is fixed now). No clue what I am talking about? This is the car transporter grandchild will get from me:

Now I am off to do a thing I deeply detest, which is iron my husband´s freshly washed trousers with crease. I think I will have to get rid of this thing of evil, I just don´t now how. The more I am complaining, the more often hubby will wear it…
