Seems he doesn´t like your movies and has disallowed further filming of his father´s books. Now I´ll never ever get to see my most cherished character, good old Glorfindel. There must be some unsolved problems between the two of you, because seriously, replacing Glorfindel with Arwen in your first film, giving the bitch his sword and his horse, I don´t know which is worse, and letting Elrond merrily chase around in Imladris´s courtyard after an orc hunt, without giving us a wee peek of his captain´s sung about beauty, does not bode well.Dear Peter, I still love your films, very much so, because there´s no other that would be able to impart the magic of Middle Earth the way you do, but have you ever considered that Christopher Tolkien, proud guardian of his father´s writings, would not be enthused over the fact that you´d inevitably have to mingle some of the Silmarillion´s material to have stuff enough for three Hobbit films? Good Lord, the man is almost 90 and has spent a big part of his life plodding through his father´s jottings to bring out those books you and other film producers now can´t film anymore. Ever heard of senile stubbornness? Mr. Tolkien might suffer from it, but on the other hand, no one would be too thrilled seeing a work of literature reshaped in such a way. That was harsh, I know, because I still love the Unexpected Journey, only that it doesn´t present the charm of the Hobbit, and I am pretty sure there´s worse to come.
