Apr. 29th, 2014 12:48 pmSince I was still not able to upload new userpics to my journal a few days ago, I played around with my tablet PC and finally found a way to create new icons, though the final set-up did not work, so I would have to send the ready-made icon to the tablet and upload it afterwards. Oh joy, create an icon, send it to your tablet via mail, store it in the galery, and woot, now you may upload it to your journal. Time-consuming, but it worked. Now playing with a tablet PC instead of doing housework commonly is not approved by a family used to freshly cooked meals and a clean house, at least on days the mistress of the household does not have to leave for work, so I did what I had to do, and began to retry what I had accomplished in the morning in the evening. Only that it did not work anymore. All I got was my profile page, no matter how often I tried to find my way onto the site where I intended to upload the new icons. And believe me, I did not hesitantly tap at the link, it was more like hacking on the display, next step: broken finger or smashed screen. At that moment I was seriously tempted to toss the tablet out of the window, but hubby sat beneath our bedroom window, happily puffing away a cigar. Now husband mine has had time enough to get used to flying objects in case his mistress was miffed, but being hit by her tablet PC out of nowhere...I took a hot bath instead of eliminating tablet and hubby (no, I did not intend to cool down), made a dive into the cream jar, went back to bed, and all of a sudden tablet decided to resume work. Hail to the nutrient cream jar! I am one of those unfortunate users whose fingertips are too dried-out to properly handle touch screens. They dislike me, and I them. Should I ever try and answer my cell while driving, I´d end up in the roadside-ditch before you can say Jack Robinson. Whatever! I´d found a way to upload my shinies, which weren´t shiny at all, because all that glitters and glimmers makes my eyes hurt (and, let´s face it, I do not have a clue how to do this), what I needed now was a cutoff. There had to be a way to achieve my goal on the PC, too. But no matter which icons I tried to upload, LJ gave me the cold shoulder, up to the moment I lost my temper (once again), blindly clicked the first picture on my desk-top and simply pressed "create userpic"- and woops, my beloved Caleb Lane was among my icons, though only scantily dressed. No, Caleb, I won´t babble what you meant to me in the past. And I certainly did not intend to reveal your loveliness to others, so I immediately called your photo in -I still hope it was not too late, and people suffered damage (because they were laughing too hard). I promise I´ll improve, until someone gives me insight into the world of glitter, and I´ll make a special icon, you clad in something glittery (what was that dreadful thing around your hips in the picture? Did not even suit you!) or nothing at all, with glitter around, because you deserve only the best! And now, since my entry is done, a process which has taken up a lot of time, as usual, because of my lousy English, I am wondering why the entry site has not ceased to load yet. It´s hardly surprising that things go down the tubes with LJ!
