That which must not, can not be...

Almost 400 complaints because of sexual assault and thievery, fireworks let off against people celebrating New Year, 160 policemen on duty, the transgressors stay out of prison, next to no announcements regarding the incidents...that´s the situaion in Koeln. Where I live we have about 20 complaints, count advancing, same criminal acts, same group of criminals, and yes, people who commit crimes like these are criminals to me, not enough police present on New Year´s Eve because a large part of the staff is on border duty, five persons arrested but set free after identification...good luck with recatching them now that they´ve proven guilty! It gets better: Two days ago a former neighbour of my mum did the same, drank too much, had an argument with his wife, sexual assault ensuing...pretty much the same list of transgressions, I´d say. So how many policemen would come to the rescue? Two? More, maybe? I´ll tell you, because I´ve been there: Twelve policemen in six!!! police cars, not the smaller ones but VW transporters, to get hold of a drunk who´d already gone to bed to sleep it off. There was no way to drive through the street, I had to sit out the act in the parking lot, that´s what you get when you consent to pick up your mother´s mail! The man is in jail now, and let this be a lesson to him, but I fail to see why he´s the only one who´s been brought to justice!
By the way, first thing on the first day of school of 2016 the girls in my daughter´s class were told was that they weren´t allowed to use physical violence??? or, even worse, pepper spray!!! against attackers. Those girls are 16, all of them lightweights, only one of them (daughter´s bestest friend from Vietnam, one head shorter than the rest) trained in martial arts, so how are they supposed to bring a mob of crazed drunkards down by physical violence? In the best case there´s eleven of the girls, while the others come in packs of twenty and more! If the situation hadn´t been so serious I´d have cracked up with laughter!
