Our next meeting with the notary will be an interesting one. Today I got a letter in which he told us that the tax office had sent him a notification that my mother had never paid her inheritance taxes for house and flat, and that sister and I would have to pay her share in addition to the new taxes. That mum had never requested a land registry we knew already, but we did not know about the not paying of the taxes and prepared for the worst- till hubby remembered he had seen a folder where mum had kept important documents, and there it was, a notification of the tax office of the amount she had to pay, plus the deposit receipt and the confirmation of her bank that she had paid all the taxes. Apparently tax office is in dire need of money and in cases like this one, with my father having died 15 years ago and mum forgetting about the land registry, hopes that the heirs are no more in possession of those documents, which won´t happen if you had a mum like mine. I think I still might find our preschool Mother´s Day gifts, those done in elementary school I´ve found already. Now sister and I are tempted to wait and let the poor notary explain which amount of money our treacherous mother has withhold from the tax office before we drop the bomb, should be fun this way!

Never mind, let´s talk about other funny things in life. Everyone here who reads my entries will know that I love to read fanfiction, especially so if I have finished a book and find fics related to it. There are a few fandoms which will always have a special place, like those of Tolkien and in some way Final Fantasy, but there´s nothing better than browsing the WWW in search of fanfiction regarding books for young adults and even more books which might not be suited for young adults but are read by those nonetheless. The outcome often is hilarious. As a general rule one can say that the first fics written in a fandom are the best ones, up to the time the not yet adult fan girlies begin to bring in their wisdom to the fandom. Oh and ouch! I won´t say that there aren´t talented writers among those girls, unfortunately they are a minority. Never mind again, I won´t vent on on those who supply entertainment on rainy days, what I have noticed is that one author started to write a Goose Girl story recently, and in next to no time here were Goose Girl adulterations all over three more different fandoms favoured by teenies-and while the first story was exceptionally well written, the other ones were abysmal, and even I might get into conniptions reading that crap save that I don´t get into conniptions but go into spasms of laughter. Worst thing is that those people have shamelessly copied parts of the first story into their own scribblings, which I´d call plagiarism, then continued in their own horrible ways. Is there a possibility one may report those idiots? I´m pretty sure the owner of the first fanfic would tear his/her hair out if he/she read the way the original story was mutilated, in three different fandoms by three different authors at that!

And now I´m off to watch the soccer finals with the rest of the family and a bottle of Hollerweiße for the first playing period and a cup of coffee for the second one, to keep me awake. As I said, soccer is not my favourite sport (but there´s no rugby to be found on TV this summer)!
