Spiders ahoy!
Aug. 1st, 2016 08:29 pmOnce again hubby did not bother with coupling our car trailer with poor old Thidiroth III (when I bought my first car I dithered between calling it Thiede or Sephiroth, so I created a mixed form of the names, quite useful because both characters tend to make reappearences, which is good, indeed, because car number one did not make it very long, and since I am a lazy person I did not want to pick out a new name for my next one) and stuffed one of mum´s infamous armchairs (infamous because once you sat another person had to pull you out from your seat or you´d be doomed to stay seated till the end of your days, or so it felt) into the boot of my car. My cry of protest was ignored, as always, my cry of rage however prompted hubby to reassess the situation aka my state of distress, alas, he was not able to catch and kill the two rather big spiders that had already made it into the car. Damn, those critters are fast! My car is very clean inside now that hubby had to hoover it as a punishment, and it stinks because of the pesticide I used to kill what might still live in the backrow. Serves hubby right, I hope he has learned his lesson!
I, too, have caught a Pidgey, a real one! Last week son number two rescued a birdie which was intent on drowning itself in our swimming pool, yesterday a lady blackbird crashed with a big boom into our terrace door- while I was standing in front of it, hanging out the washing. At first I thought it dead, but all of a sudden it tried to struggle to its feet, and tuxedo cat considered it best to take off with it before it took off again. Unfortunately cat jumped onto Oscar´s doll´s kitchen which collapsed under the cat´s weight. For a few seconds there was utter chaos till I was able to grab the bird and made a beeline into the house where I was greeted by Namo and Vaire who thought I´d brought them dessert. I left via entrance door, to bring the bird which now was hysterically flapping its wings to the next shrubbery in neighbour´s garden, alas, tuxedo cat was waiting there already, together with our vet´s other cats. Four cats and one ailing bird, oh dear! Just then daughter mine made an appearance, summed up the situation and brought out the bag of kibbles. Forgotten was the birdie, and while I plodded along the graveled road to save the tiny crash-pilot the cats munched away as much of the kibbles as possible, because their owner always barf feeds them, that´s why kibbles are so yummy! Birdie took off into the shrubbery, the cats are happy as a clam, and tomorrow I´ll buy a new bag of kibbles, in case we have another bird accident!
