Middle-Europe holds its breath. Again. Now that storm Petra and her younger but even wilder siblings are finally history, there comes Sabine. Sabine who? Well, Sabine got originally named Ciara, but it´s not the first and certainly not the last time that the same weather activity gets a different name in Germany. Since 2002 private persons may book forenames for cyclones and anticyclones. 199 Euro for a depression, 299 for its counterpart, every even year depressions get female and anticyclones male names. So some Sabine thought that her name might sound way more impressive to German hearing than Ciara, and off was the official name given to the storm. Sabine is coming, yahoo! If I had my way Sabine-Ciara could jump in a lake, I don´t need her, I don´t want her. I also cannot send Sabine back to where she came from. People in UK would not be amused to see her again, even if she blows under a new name now. Besides, I like those people there, albeit they do not belong to EU anymore. We have been securing what Petra was not able to blow off, my car is in the carport, hubby´s one in the garage, and now daughter and I are doing salmon sandwiches for Oscar night. Then we will have a short nap before the big event starts. Why we are watching the show? No idea! But daughter came back home so that we could watch together, and even if I am more a fan of rugby and football I will do her a favour and sit with her. Besides, I love salmon sandwiches...
