On Tuesday hubby and I will do something outrageous. Something totally prohibited: We will pack ourselves into my car and drive to son number three. Do we have a reason for the journey? Yes, of course! Will reason defy a complaint done by Covid mafia? Well, probably not. But son needs the old wardrobes we have stored in our cellar, at least one of it. We had ordered them from a carpenter for the rooms of our last offspring, and they are so cool that, when grandchildren were on the way, number one to three drew by lot who´d be the lucky one to inherit them. Number three won, but then came Covid and then a too short period of freedom in summer, where none of us wanted to pack the wardrobes into a car and do the two and a half hour trip to son´s new abode, until it was too late and they locked us up once again. But grandchild number three needs more than boxes for her clothing. Besides, she has been promised more doll´s clothes gifted by her aunt. Cannot be that the doll has a wardrobe and granddaughter will have to clear out the boxes with clothing on a daily basis, to find the dress or shirt she wants to wear for playgroup! Her mum is not amused because of the mess, we can say the same of our cellar, which is more like a storage room full of things our offspring want to keep, but not in their own house. So at least one wardrobe will be off, and hopefully the second one will follow soon. Then there´s still the unsolved case of the piano in the guestroom. I´d say we are way too far into winter now to rent a transport trailer to get that thing out of the house! We have had the first real snow of this season two days ago, but now it has vanished, melted down by a veritable föhn storm. There´s more snow to come from Monday on...
Baking has turned out well thanks to the recipes snatched from other users, the only thing I have not done yet is produce the fruit cakes daughter and I love so much. Alas, we are the only ones in the family who share the love...

This year´s advent wreath, done at home without the help of a florist this time, because all of our flower shops are closed.

My favourite mirror decorated for Christmas. The blue lights in the background are our icicle lights on the balcony, which work fine today, because it´s so warm outside. If it gets colder, only half of the lights will be on duty. And if it rains or snows, there´ll be no duty at all. Fickle things those lights are...
