I was putting up our nativity set when I realized that the chief character was not in his crib, where he was supposed to oversummer, as he has done all these years. Baby Jesus has been through a lot, that I can tell you. Our cats had loved the little one so much that he got robbed out of his hay bed more than once. His worst adventure by far was the air journey baby Jesus had to do when the older boys had gotten the much longed-for Schleich castle inclusive catapult for Christmas. At some point the three of them must have lost the arteficial blocks of stone and looked for replacement. Baby Jesus was the only thing that fitted into the plate, and I have to admit he hurtled through the air like a prof, at least until he got confiscated by me. Baby Jesus is missing now. The crib is empty. Oscar suggested I might put a lego figure into it, he´d lend me Darth Vader, because he has two of them. I had to tell him no, thanks, and will have to buy a new baby now that the shops are open again. I only hope that the old one will not re-emerge, because daughter mine, our family´s recycling queen, would simply place the old crib next to the new one, and poor Mary could be considered the mother of twins, because you can´t let the second babe wither!
Some parts of our small country are snowed under. Where I live there should have been rain instead of snow, but no, it was dry and very sunny. Foehn was busy trying to get the baubles and crystals off my outdoor Christmas tree, that´s why quite a lot of them are missing in the picture. Daughter promised to get them back for me when I am away tomorrow, because there´s a chance that snow will come during the day. I hope not, I do not like driving in the Eastern part of Austria when it snows, because there´s always chaos on the streets. Apparently the use of snow tyres is considered voluntary, hence the wrecked cars that go with snowfall.
