Cats and warm places...

wiseheart sent me a field-tested recipe for sponge cake which can also be used for Swiss roll. I had strawberries, I had jam, in the fridge there were two tubs with cream, so a Swiss roll it would be. I did not burn it this time, that´s good, I am making progress with baking. Sponge came out a golden brown, and it smelled heavenly. I put it onto a sugared baking parchment to be able to peel off the lining paper. I swear I went out of the kitchen for maybe two minutes. When I came back Vaire cat had made herself at home on the baked sponge. I now had a sponge with the imprint of a cat in the middle. At least I was still able to peel off the paper. Swiss roll looked a bit malformed, but tasted very good. Next time I will lock the cats up. Or guard the sponge. Maybe both of it, you never can tell what´s coming along.
Crocheting is progressing fine. At this rate the baby blanket will be ready for use next week. Baby is due for October. And there´s wool enough for another blanket. I am pretty sure that number three and wife have not yet put aside their wish for a second child...
I always wondered if it is even possible to drop a stitch at crocheting. Now I know, and it´s a yes. Just found an abandonned stitch at the top of one of the bobbles. Fortunately I was able to secure it when crocheting the back row. Lucky me! Three more pattern repeats and I´ve done it! I am glad that I have kept some of the wool I wanted to give away, so that I am able to continue with the beach blanket. Bad weather keeps me inside most of the time, so I need something to kill time! Bad weather is a constant this spring. Weather forecast tells that it will stay until the end of June. What a bummer!
PS: Hubby just called for me to come out into the garden, to look at the strange yellow thing in the sky. I think he means the sun...
