No sugar? Mission impossible

Daughter mine wanted another dessert with strawberries one she could do without my help. There´s an easy recipe which I often serve in summer, when there are berries aplenty: curd, whipped cream, a tad of sugar and lots of (straw)berries. Daughter did the cutting and the whipping, and since she needs to lose some pounds she insisted on doing the sweetening, too. I watched her from afar, to see her face when she tasted her dessert. One teaspoon, and off she was to get the sugar out of the cupboard. I almost had to laugh. I had tasted the strawberries, they were awful- red but sour and incredibly hard. With sugar aplenty the dessert was no more in line with her diet but edible at least!
Today I have compiled clutter in my studio- cachepots, vases, candlesticks, two lucky cats and some Japanese knickknack I´d have loved to keep but do not have room enough for. Three boxes will get to our church´s flea market in June. I am so glad that I know one of the church ladies well, she will come and pick the boxes up tomorrow and bring them to the church community centre. I am also glad that church flea markets are held again. Took our politicians long enough to allow them to happen! Today is also bread baking day. No, I do not do a week´s contingent of bread as daughter-in-law does. Mostly I bake one or two small loafs, the rest will get acquired in the bakery. Bakers need to live off their job also. I like the smell of freshly baked bread all over the house. It smells way better than the air fresheners we have installed all over the house. And now I am off to get my bread out of the oven. Alexa is jingling...
