Upgraded again
Jun. 9th, 2021 08:08 pmToday hubby and I have been upgraded as Cassian´s caregiver. He will be with us until Friday. What I hope is that this arrangement will not last longer than June, or I will check into an insane asylum by my own choice.
Today I rooted out what was left of my gingko, the one which had sprouted so nicely last spring, before the cold killed him. In its stead I will plant the mirabelle tree. I wanted to do so today, but excavating took much longer than expected thanks to Cassian´s valiant help. Daughter-in-law would have been quite upset if one of the twiggy branches had hit her only child, so I took great care that the young one had a blast by digging into the soil with his miniature shovel as long as he wanted, and hubby brought him to safety when the tree was ready to fall. Plus I have to admit that it wasn´t a tree but a sapling, yet even saplings can cause harm. Anyway, before I was able to plant the new tree another big thunderstorm arrived, so no more digging but hiding in the house was called for. Last thing I need is getting hit by lightning. Some years ago lightning made it into the inflatable swimming pool of a neighbour. He had to buy a new one then. Since the mirabelle tree will get planted next to the pool I decided to wait for weather improvement.
Cassian has learned a valuable lesson today, which is don´t pee and try to dash away from grandma. The little one had taken his nap in the guestroom, and when he woke he stripped off his nappy, peed on the floor then started abusing the piano. I was not amused and told him so, which made him race past me. He did not come far, only up to the wetness on the floor, and then- splat. I had expected to get a full equipment along with the child, but no...nappies without underpants won´t work with young children the moment they are able to pull off the velcro. But while Cassian slept I watched an interesting report about Morocco on TV. I am no rabid feminist, but if I ever see a boy riding a donkey, so tall that his legs are dangerously near to the ground, and his mother runs beside him loaded with goods this one better run, before I am upon him!
