Jun. 12th, 2021 04:29 pmAll things considered it has been a good day today. I woke at half past one in the morning, because the rooster up the hill was crawing like mad already. All the roosters up there start their day early, I suppose the farmer works in one of the factories in town and does night shift regularly. Fell asleep again after having fed my cats, who needed energy in form of nourishment to be able to wreak havoc. At least they do so without making a noise. Woke again at four in the morning: rooster still in action, angry birds almost drowned out by angry cats. There has to be a new cat in town the estate which has not yet found its place in the cat hierarchy. I listened to the cat fight for some time then decided that if I did not intervene by chasing cats off my terrace aka cat fun park no one in the neighbourhood would have a decent sleep for the rest of the night. I wish old Tux would still be strong enough to do the chasing off on his own, but no, he practically slept through the fight in his cosy box on the garden table, when hell had broken loose under his nose. That´s the advantage of being deaf!
Got up at eight because the scent of ham and eggs made it into the bedroom. After breakfast daughter and I started the project of the day- drill a hole into 200 crown caps she needs for her project next week, while hubby was at the recycling yard looking for tin lids, of these she needs only 20 to bring with. I do not even want to know what this project is about, but apparently her team found sponsors enough to be able to pull it through.
And while hubby swiped the floor after dinner I concentrated on today´s newspapers and advertisements. That´s what I found, and seriously, it made my day:

Saruman, gone to the dogs in the truest sense of the word. Must have been a Tolkien lover at work. We now know why he is called Saruman the White: Persil does the job...
Weather was okay today. Warm and no rain, that´s good. I can cope with heat, I can cope with rain. But the combination of both we had the last days is maddening. There´s a reason why hubby and I decided not to live in the jungle...
