How to get deaf in 15 minutes
Jul. 9th, 2021 06:22 pmYesterday had been Cassian day again. The little one behaved well, ate his second breakfast, did not anger the cats, sat and flipped through his favourite books while I prepared lunch, though he now pretends to be a Gruffalo and wanders around showing us his "huge" paws, the long tongue (true) and the poisonous wart on his nose which is a freckle. A very impressive miniature edition of the monster he is, I must say, about 86 centimetres high. We should do a sign for him like "Don´t step on little monsters, they are precious!" and maybe "Don´t feed monsters, they are on special diet!". While pretending being the Gruffalo Cassian got very loud. But he can do even better in this field, and he proved it when he followed me to the bedroom, where I use to watch a cooking show after lunch. Only that I was not able to watch it this time, because Cassian detected a video he must see, by all means, straightaway, call it the way you want. It was clear that my cooking show had to wait in the media library. Now most children would like to see Bob the builder or Fireman Sam, but Cassian is a bit special: he wanted to watch the video where cars get scrapped. He loved the scrap metal press, but even more he liked the cars get shredded by giant ridged wheels. The sound of the cars torn to tiny pieces of metal was awful, but Cassian squealing in enthusiasm, and straight into my ear at that, was sheer hell. After about twenty cars getting wrecked my right ear had been ringing then practically went out of order for the next hour. That boy surely will try to accompany me to the bedroom again, but I will rather forego the Küchenschlacht than watch this video clip again! My tablet PC will be "kaputt" when he asks me for it and the like!
I had a nice day at home today, and hubby and number four made it back home safely in the late afternoon. Senile insomnia is good for the widening of my cooking repertoire. I found a nice Mediterranean recipe for chicken breast I was able to do in advance, so today´s Küchenschlacht got watched on the bed without a squealing child next to me. It was fun to see the contestants fight with the pasta dough, because that´s what I usually do. Finding joy in another one´s misfortune is said to be vile, but I was somewhat reassured that it´s not only me who has problems when trying to do proper tortellini!
