In came Elsa, and off went a first tantrum, and soon the next...and the next. I was glad that I was able to hide in the kitchen and pretend to do last preparations for lunch. This girl truly is lacking in education! How can a toddler of barely two and a half years be such a tyrann! I know from experience it will get better the longer she is at our house because by then she will have at least one confrontation with a fuming grandma who will put her in her place regardless of whether her parents will approve of it or not. What went well with Oscar and Xaver will be fine with their spoiled daughter, too! On Friday they will be off for a day in a thermal bath, together with number one and his family, so there´s room for daughter and me to do last minute shopping before she is off. That girl has nerves of steel, off on early Monday morning, nothing packed at all...Hubby is torn between butting into her easygoing attitude and shopping furniture for number four´s room in the new shared flat. I strongly hope he decides upon furnishing, or I might snap...
Yesterday Vaire brought a bird into the living room and tossed it around- a more than fifty year old Steiff budgie that had belonged to my sister. Hers was the green one while mine was blue. Funny thing that many of her old toys have survived while mine have not. It´s the same with our violins- mine has vanished, hers is still alive though not well. Hubby asked if I wanted it overhauled, but I am pretty sure that the moment this thing is playable again my sister would want it back. And no, I have not taken it from her, she sent me off with it to dispose of what she called a nuisance that had ruined her early puberty. How can a violin ruin her puberty? It´s her teacher I still feel bad for!
We must have a brownie gone bad in the house. I have started to work on a cross stitching project then unravelled my work and put the yarn away. My friend gifted me a book with beautiful Christmas patterns to work on- only now the yarn is nowhere to be found. Same friend went shopping with me and I bought ramen. Noodles where on the countertop for three days. On the fourth I would have needed them- not to be found also. Four persons on the search, no positive result. Today Elsa wanted her sand mill. I had put her sand toys into a box on the terrace- all there but for the sand mill. Elsa is sad. I am livid. Sand mill is on the run still. Naturally, today was the only day without rain for the rest of the week, and she would have been able to play in the garden......
