Three ladies came for coffee...
Aug. 24th, 2021 06:14 pmAt four in the afternoon two ladies arrived at our house. I fired the coffee maker on. Half an hour later: one more lady. More coffee, more cake. Then we opened a bottle of prosecco. None of the ladies wanted snacks- at first. Too much cake, a diet overdue, they said. Aha! I should have left it at that and kept the fridge door closed, because the moment the first one saw salmon they all got very hungry, diet or not. Two big plates of salmon sandwiches, two with bacon and a huge plate with shrimps crackers almost competely eaten up in next to no time. I had one slice of bacon sandwich only, I swear! Hubby managed to save a few meagre sandswiches for number two´s family and secretely made some more crackers for them. Fortunately I had fed daughter mine before she left for for work- she´d have thrown a tantrum when not getting salmon!
Today we had Katsu style ramen, because dauhghter loves it. Tomorrow number three will arrive. It will be fricassee of chicken with mushrooms, a huge pot of it. Poor number four, he hates mushrooms (and a great many things more). Daughter at least collected towels and bed clothes for her term abroad. One step in the right direction...
It is thirteen degrees outside and raining hard. Today I have put away the pool gadgets like swimmies and rubber rings. We won´t need them anymore this year. Alas, the big bad crocodoile Cassian fears so much (because he fell off it and landed in the water) is gone to sleep in the cellar, too. Elsa will be devastated! Number three plus family (and maybe hubby, too) will do a trip to a nearby thermal bath on Friday, but I do not think a fully inflated crocodile she can play with will fit into their car! Meanwhile grandma will stay at home and watch over Cassian, who will get picked up after his before-dinner nap... and do the cooking with number four. At least this one knows how to cook!
