Day off

I got woken by the alarm of hubby's clock radio at five in the morning. Believe me, I got woken for quite a long time, because husband dearest did not dare to turn on the lights to look for the off-button, or he might wake me. As if the blaring of the alarm had not done it already! I surely won´t have gone deaf during night, though my husband´s snoring might do the trick one day! I stayed in bed, because- day off today! Freedom lasted for about one more hour, then Namo cat of all things, senile and on the brink of death for months, demanded vociferously to get fed, and pronto! Not that he'd feed much these days, but still! At seven o'clock I gave up. Sleep did not come anymore, and there were things on my agenda!
After breakfast I started looking for furniture. I was so right: the only beds that would fit into daughter's room will be available towards the end of November only. People must have switched from broad to narrow during Corona times. Maybe they cannot afford big pricy flats anymore and need smaller beds! Hubby will do a trip to a small furniture shop, where he had bought the new box-spring bed for number four. Would be nice if we got it a bit earlier! Refurbishing in advent-time was not what I intended to do!
Then I did a trip to Aldi and bought pumpkins and heather to decorate the house entrance. Since there was so much traffic on the motorway, I forewent the trip to my favourite garden centre. That´s the place where I almost always find new dragons. Since Halloween decoration is essential when you have grandchildren, I thought more dragons might come in handy, but there´s time aplenty to get some! Not that anyone here would do trick-or-treat, it´s the decorated house they love! If they even get allowed out of the house, with Covid numbers rapidly climbing! What I fear is that they will try to lock us up again! Of course, our politicians surely must know that this will not work out. Please, have a look at Australia or New Zealand and see, if they are Corona-free after countless (and absolutely ineffective) lockdowns!
At least I did find the embroidery threads I had mislaid, just as [livejournal.com profile] wiseheart had told me I would, when I had bought new ones. They were stored in my medicine drawer. This was the first place I had looked when my threads had gone AWOL but did not spot them! Maybe the cat goodies will show up, too, because today I bought a pile of new ones!

Because the weather is fine and the sight so pretty...
