Sulking again

I started embroidery anew. Now let´s hope that I will manage to finish the project in time, because there are a few obstacles in the way. For instance, I haven´t yet found some of the fitting threads I need for faces- I still might have to do a Chinese Christmas elf or Santa being a redskin- literally! There´s no suitable threads to obtain in the shops here. Maybe I will use the fine knitting yarn I once bought to do amigurumis. Next problem is that my eye sight is not that good. And it is getting dark rather quickly near a hill range. I tried to work in artificial light today- impossible for me. And the longer autumn lasts the less light will come through the balcony door- now embroidering turns into a race against the clock and the season, which is totally not funny! I have to reschedule my chores: breakfast first then a quick overhaul of kitchen and living room, a bit of embroidering then cooking. Lunch has to be ready at one. Number four has started working again, comes back at this time and leaves one and a half hour later. Since this one always skips breakfast he needs something for lunch which keeps him going!
Even though I do not like autumn I love the smell of it. The wet ground, the earthy smell of soil, the scent of mums and mushrooms- that I can cope with, but not the rapid loss of warmth and daylight, especially after a summer that had us turn the lights on more often than we cared for! I mowed the lawn today and thusly killed the rucola in the grass. Daughter is off, the rest of the family does not like its taste. Until next year, you green menace! And just now, at the point where school is about to start again, the weather is fine all of a sudden. Over twenty degrees, lots of sunshine, only days are considerably shorter and nights cold already. But you can smell autumn all around, even though this season is supposed to be three days old only. A veritable premature start this year!
