Reading yesterday´s post makes me think that I might have been a bit agitated. I am not a hardcore feminist, but during four decades I have learned how to do things and make decisions myself. And by talking to my friends I learned that the same thing happened to them- the moment their husbands retired they began to turn the household upside down by trying to reorganise what had been functioning all these years before, when both of them had been working. Plus, men tend to get clingy when at home all the time. There´s a big difference between clingy and jealous- all of us made it through our marital commitment without blue eyes and other characteristics of domestic abuse. Yet a clingy husband is a nuisance, and the worst thing is that our men do not even know they are...
It´s number four´s birthday today, and we just had cake. In the evening we will have dinner at a Mongolian restaurant. Son has decided to give it a try. I wonder if my stomach will be able to tolerate the food, my digestive system is a bit wonky for some days already. But since tomorrow will be the big day of packing and loading the car and Wednesday the day when son and hubby will be off for the new room in Graz in the early morning there´s not a chance that we can postpone official birthday dinner!
Weather has turned from hot and sunny to warm but rainy to cold and rainy. It´s twelve degrees, the pool is closed until next year, and most of the vegetable plants went into the organic waste collection bin. Hubby has fueled the fireplace, so we have at least one cosy room in the house. On the other side knitting has come to an abrupt stop, no way I will sit and freeze in the mini studio, where I keep my handiwork stored!
