And off he is...
Sep. 22nd, 2021 06:35 pmI got up early, at six in the morning, too early to my mind, to have breakfast with hubby and son and first and foremost bid number four goodbye. There are days I wish he had chosen to do his studies in the nearby town. Would have been cheaper and less complicated. Son decided to oversleep and showed up only ten minutes before they had to leave. He is not that keen to go back to Graz, no wonder, because his girlfriend lives here!
I did a lot of knitting this day, at least until a friend showed up with a bottle of prosecco and cake. Friend left but half an hour ago, prosecco is gone and hubby will be back again soon. It was not exactly the way I intended to spend my free day, but it´s nice to have such a good friend who knows that I tend to get a bit melancholic, when all of a sudden all of my children are off. Technically there are two living not that far away, but it´s not the same as if they live under the same roof.
Tomorrow will be Cassian day, as usual. Means a lot of running after a toddler who thinks himself old enough to not take a nap at midday, then two or three short clips with cars in the bed with the little one hanging at my side, watching the videos while reducing my stash of chocolate. Last time we did this Cassian sent his grandpa, who wanted to pick him up and return the little one to his mother, downstairs. Video watching is a thing between me and Cassian only. What I do not understand is why he loves those boring videos so much, where someone is unpacking new toy cars. Last time I dozed off while watching, and the tablet PC whacked my nose. Imagine this, I got a scolding from my grandchild!
Since today is such a cool, grey day I fetched the scented candles. Sitting in candlelight with the cats (both of them, Namo feels more alive today) seems to have a calming influence on my frayed nerves...
