I dedicated this morning to embroidery. After having threads and pillow case safely stored away in the studio, because Elsa had been in the house, I did not feel like doing needle work for some days. With Elsa it´s a bit complicated- this girl is nosy! Lucky me that she did not find the pillow case, but that´s only because she found her doll house instead (brought up from the conservatory and put on a dresser, so that she would not scatter dolls and furnishing all over the house) and the Sylvanian family members (brought up for the same reason). Of course, her father did not mind letting her play with the toys when she had managed to get into the sleeping room and the mini studio. I´d really appreciate if he told his daughter to not undress but put the toys away again next time. So before I was able to continue embroidery I had to dress up about twenty or more tiny animals, because tomorrow will be Cassian day, and Cassian hates it when those animals he loves to play with are practically naked. Afterwards I did a good hour of stitching then took a break to cook lunch. Next frustrating thing- rice that usually takes about 20 minutes for cooking decided to stay hard and crispy. After having the bowl rotating in the microwave for this long I gave up and tossed rice into the hotpot Szechuan style for ten more minutes. Rice was still hard, so I finally admitted defeat and served it the way it was. After a short rest I wanted to continue stitching, already wondering how big this snowwoman I was doing would get. Turned out that in my haste I had misread the instruction and had added four stitches more to a row- at the beginning of today´s work. I had to undo what I had done in the morning and start anew. A lot of time and yarn wasted, I´d say! And since it got dark outside so swiftly I had to stop stitching at all. So I did not make much progress today, my bad!
Ulysses is indeed very good at making you fall asleep during reading. I think I made only a few pages at five in the morning before I went back to dreamland. And I did not hit my nose with the tablet this time! Wonders never cease!
