May. 7th, 2022 08:15 pmLovely May, where are you!
It´s bloody cold outside, eleven degrees, and raining non-stop. Husband mine is just kindling a fire in the fireplace, because sitting in the living room and watching TV is quite uncomfortable otherwise. The involvement of the Green Party in our government comes to fruition- from next year on defect gas heatings will have to be substituted by "green" ways of heating. No coal, no oil, no gas in new buildings. Oh joy! Especially since the "green" heating systems are not installable because of delivery problems that won´t disappear into thin air the next years! Our gas burner is old but still working fine. What I fear is that many a burner will breathe its last after the yearly inspection. Just like our roof gutter, which sportet four!!! big drillholes, when the roofer had left after affixing new gutters at the back of the house. Fortunately hubby did an inspection of the work he had done, and found the holes. Man, was he angry then! He was able to seal the holes, just before the rain would splatter all over the facade. I reckon that this has been this roofer´s last job at our house!
Knitting-wise I managed to do one sleeve and a third of the second one today, so there´s still the chance that I´ll be able to finish the jacket in time. Good thing is that a son of a neighbour will pick it up and deliver it in Sankt Pölten, where number three is working. Hubby has been very nice, he drove to the pharmacy to get me those special plasters for extremely sensitive skin to cover my forefinger- yes, I am also allergic to plasters!
Tonight I had the strangest dream! Does anyone know the ancient TV series Ufo, the one with Michael Billington? In one episode he gets that astronaut´s helmet put over his head, which suddenly fills with some strange fluid. Instant panic, and rightfully so- in my dream I was stuck in the helmet, and the sense of drowning felt so very real. I asked hubby if I had had some sort of asthma attack (my spray is always on the nightstand, though I had not needed it in months), but he had noticed nil. Okay, I now know that I am a vivid dreamer, but maybe I better think of a nicer topic to dream about!
