Traditions

Hubby and I got woken by banging at five in the morning. Only slowly it dawned on us that this was not because of a local wedding tradition but because today is Corpus Christi- the field day of our local marksmen´s guilds. I think almost every small village nearby has such a guild, and they are a vital part of the Corpus Christi parade. The last two years parades weren´t allowed, and the years before the weather often thwarted parade plans, hence the pentup-demand, means constant banging until midday. Oh well, I love my coffee even at seven in the morning...
Apropos coffee- I tried to have mine on the terrace thrice today, and each time I sat down with the cup in my hand it started to rain, so back in I went. Coffee gone, sunshine back- someone in the weather department must dislike me greatly!
On the knitting front all is relatively well, only that I was up to the armseye of the back part, when I finally noticed I had started with a knitted row instead of a purled one. I don´t give a damn about the cuff having the wrong design now. Call it artisanal freedom! It simply does not matter, what matters is that knitting the jumper overstrains my shoulders, arms and neck. I will have to restrain myself from knitting too long!
Tomorrow I will be off to a shopping tour in Germany. Daughter sent me a list of things she needs. A friend will accompany me. Hubby´s car is still in repair. If he has to pick up our grandson, he will have to do so before 10 AM. Then my car will be off....
