Some of my tomato plants just died by getting snapped off by a sudden strong wind. No thunderstorm was advancing, the sky was still only slightly overcast, but sun shades, watering cans and bath towels were doing a merry dance across the garden for 20 minutes, then the wind died down a bit. I wish they would tell us about such weather phenomenons in advance, but I think something like that has happened in some parts of Germany yesterday! Lots of people complained about strong winds tossing around their garden furniture in a garden forum. Today has been a strange day anyway, starting with a thunderstorm at 8:30, which managed to wake me up- second night in a row I was able to sleep through by the help of hubby´s beer cure, even though temperatures did not drop under 21 during night. I did the usual morning chores like clean the kitchen and the livingroom, wrote a shopping list for hubby (toilet paper!!!) then I went upstairs for some knitting. No progress was made- do you recognise that squeaky sound of stitches which won´t slide over the needles as usual? I hate it when air moisture is so high! The rest of the day hubby and I spent on the terrace reading, doing sudokus and crossword puzzles and, of course, swimming- that´s the advantage of being retired (and your offspring forgets about sending their offspring to the doting grandparents)!
