One-day heatwave is gone already, I woke to strong winds at four in the morning, with temperatures down to comfortable 16 degrees, no way Helga-Herta would be inclined to repeat her vocal performance. After breakfast I went in search of the pieces of our grandchildren´s waterplay, which had been carried by the wind from the terrace onto the lawn. Hubby had rinsed it the day before but forgot to put it together again. Fortunately lawn has been cut not long ago, so it was an easy search. Then came a former colleague of my husband with her new dog (Portoguese water dog, reeks worse than our dog had but is a very good digger), and I got involved into a conversation about drama and such. Musicians is a strange folk, and intrigue is a part of their world. Not my department, so I left them to their plotting...
I have done a second round of tomato-pruning. How fast do those side shoots grow back? That´s going to be a never-ending story, well, maybe not exactly never-ending, because at the end of September tomatoes will be all gone! And can somebody please explain me, why I got four Hokkaido and another unknown sort of pumpkin from the seeds hubby kept from last year? The only pumpkins I ever bought were Hokkaido ones, so the big green one stands out like a sore thumb.
Not much going on concerning the knitting front, because it was too warm for knitting. Back and front of the jumper are done, now it´s on to the collar. But it´s definitely no fun, when the wool sticks to you fingers! Since next week by act of grace we will have another day with 30 degrees (and some more quite warm ones) I better finish as much of the project as possible. Time flies, the family will be off for a month from August 5th on, and Cassian wants to take that jumper with him...
