Aug. 6th, 2022 05:09 pmRain, as promised?
Nope! Well, it did drizzle for a few hours, but not enough to repair hubby's destruction work. There's still green to find on the lawn- weed is more resistant to hubby and heat than grass. Hopefully there will be more water from above the next days! Even though I love daisies and red clover and whatever flowers grow amidst our lawn- these plants may be nice for bees but definitely not for the feet of little ones stomping on what's left of the green, especially if bees are trying to frolick, while my grandchildren stomp on them.
It's on the verge of cold- 17 degrees and strong winds. No air con has to be turned on for the next days, a good thing for our electricity bill! Our country does eighty percent of electricity by hydro power stations- and sells a big part to other countries, while we import electricity generated by nuclear power plants. We thought that at least our electricity would be cheap and 'green', but nope! Does not matter, it's always the merit order, which determines the price. I almost had a laughing fit followed by a crying fit when reading the dailies- this year we have a record harvest of grain, more than we need, enough to feed our animals even- yet prices for grain are supposed to go through the roof. Can someone explain the way of economy to me, please, so that I won't strangle the wrong people?
I have tackled my next knitting project. It is definitely not one of my favourites, but I will pull through, there's no going back now. I wonder what the little ones will do to all those threads on the inside- hopefully Cassian won't get his hands on a scissor- scissoring is a favourite occupation of my grandson. When he's at our house, I have to hide all my tools for clipping, or I'd find every thread around cut, whether I like it or not! Pictures will follow as soon as I have something to show off...
