Time for cleaning up
I put back into place all those toys our grandchildren got their hands on. Elsa is very gentle, while Xaver is definitely not. The Baby Born horse got literally unsaddled, it took me some time to bring it into shape again, some stitching together included. Good thing is that my sister gifted me the huge travel chest she had kept in her flat but wanted to get rid off, where I will stash all those toys that have to be kept off the master of destruction from now on.
Hubby did a tour to Germany, to stock up on things that have been consumed those last days. I did a summary of groceries which needed replenishing- such as milk (six litres gone in three days, wow, we need one during a week), plain yoghurt (one litre gone), muesli, apple juice (all six packages gone), ham (nothing left in the fridge, though hubby bought a kilo), eggs and bread- hah! Bread they do not like that much, that´s why it died a lonely death in the bread bin (I do not eat bread but corn cakes only). Needless to say that hubby also bought things we do not need that much, like lots of berries he will do jam from tomorrow. What he forgot to buy was jam sugar, that´s why he just left the house in a hurry, because shops are about to close in a few minutes and won´t re-open until Tuesday.
DiL number three called in the afternoon and asked us to empty the family´s fridge from things that might go to waste- so very funny, because they have left for vacation on Friday- last week! It might be too late to save all the food, but I am not the one who goes through the content of fridges of other persons without being asked to, family or not. Not that I will have to change plans for tomorrows cooking- daughter will come for dinner (early shift on Monday), and she so loves Korean cooking! I have to defrost my fridge full of rice- and fish cakes, before it gets cold again and I will avoid work in the cellar! So lets hope that husband mine will return with nothing more than jam sugar...
Apparently Matthäus has spread his germs on hubby and me, we both have a running nose. There´s also a chance that it might have come from the very cool nights we have here already- ten to twelve degrees is way too cold for middle of August, but I refuse to tilt the windows! It´s dog days of summer, so dog nights are to be warm also!
