I love the quiet...

They are off! One day earlier than expected, because DiL has to take care of her mother's old dog, because her mother is on a health cure for three weeks. Dog is very old and has cancer, but still lives and bites all those people he does not like, which are many. DiL's sister, who has originally been designed for this job until Sunday, wants to do a long weekend trip with her husband- we have a feast day on Monday, and a lot of people are off for a short vacation. Elsa unfortunately found her old self yesterday evening. I think this happened, because she wanted to stay longer, she so loved to play with her cousins! Kindergarten is closed until September, so she might feel bored at home with no one to play with- no friends where she lives, dad at work, and mum busy with the new addition to the family. But a not yet three and a half year old cannot stay at our house without her parents. I am pretty sure I´d have to bring her home the next day, after a night without sleep, because she´d miss her mum and her dad. Her brother probably not so much, but that´s speculation only...
I had a plan for today- do the kitchen, do the bedrooms and the laundry then relax on the terrace until bad weather arrives. Turned out that it was sunny until Midday- with temperatures around 20 and strong winds- definitely no weather for relaxing outside. Until now it hasn´t rained a single drop, but there has been thunder to be heard. Now the sun is coming out again. No wonder that I discovered that some of our plants got mildew thanks to the relatively dry weather. It was easy to cut off the damaged leaves of the pumpkins, but I won´t climb onto the ladder, to remove the top leaves of the trumpet tree. That will be hubby´s work for tomorrow.
I have given up on reading weather forecast. Yesterday son and I talked about him and grandsons coming for bathing in the pool from Monday on, because we´d get 30 degrees for three days. In the evening one day with 30 degrees was left. Today there´s none, but we´ll get rain and cool temperatures. What do those weather experts get paid for? Maybe I should go and invest in a weather predicting tree frog instead!
