Sep. 1st, 2022 06:44 pm...how bad hubby was when doing jigsaws as a child. Today I opened the cupboard to take out the pepper grinder, and off fell its lid. That made me suspicious (I already have smashed one grinder, because apparently someone in the house cannot properly seal jars and grinders and the like). Now we do have five grinders I seldomly make use of. And all five had the wrong lid on top. Can it be that hard? Metal to metal, glass to glass, plastic to plastic. And if the lid does not fit properly, try the next grinder. I definitely do not want another pepper explosion on my kitchen tiles!
I will have to tarp the vegetable plants during night- temperatures will go down to seven degrees, way too cold for the first day of meteorologic autumn. But tomato prices in shops have gone through the roof, so I want to be able to harvest what is growing on the plants. After all, I have been taking good care of them during summer, so why not a few weeks longer?
I have to admit that I have been napping today quite often. I am definitely too old for getting up so early! Blessedly no grandchildren here, so not that much housework to do except for turning the vacuum cleaner on and do a bit of dusting. There was plenty of leftovers (spanakopita and tzatziki) in the fridge for today's lunch. Hubby was off in the afternoon, and if he needs nourishment, when concert is over, there's ham and cheese and fresh bread in the house. I am pretty sure I won't be awake anymore, when he returns!
