Yesterday's daily crime time turned out a bit different than usual. We were nearing half-time, when our landline began to ring, and hubby went to answer the call. A person on the other end of the line warned us, that burglars had been sighted in our street, and we better put our valuables and money in a bag, which was to get placed in front of the entrance door. There a cop would pick it up and bring it back as soon as police got hold of those thieves. Hubby toyed a bit with the caller then began to shout at him, telling that he'd immediately call the real police, and until then he'd bring the rifle out of the weapon cabinet. Not that we'd have one, save for a harmless air rifle not even the sparrows here are afraid of. Caller quickly ended the ring. I would have informed the police, but those tricksters always use prepaid handys and dispose of them when needed. Besides, our landline does not show the numbers anyway. It does not since many years, yet husband mine thinks that we do not need a new one. Maybe he thinks differently about the topic now! And I am still wondering how dumb or desorientated a person must be to fall for such tricks!
I got an invitation for an afternoon coffee by daughter´s godmother, which I had to refuse. Since my eyes did get better only a bit, though I had used the eyedrops my medic had prescribed last time (I had not used them then, because eye infection had gotten better already), I called her this morning. She asked for other sympoms I had and told me that most likely I had a viral conjunctivitis, which does not hurt (true) and is relatively harmless, but cannot be treated by the help of eyedrops. Makes sense, I had quit taking them yesterday (they hurt) and only used moisturising eye salve. Way better than the drops! The trouble is that I am also to stay at home, if possible, because such an infection is contagious and often goes along with a cough and sniffles. I see! Cassian, I love you!
Cooking was fun today, because I only used up what was left of yesterday´s lunch: a bit of chicken and pork filet I fried, added onions and pumpkin and tossed all into the leftover Ssamjang. Hubby sliced left-over white bread, et voilà- lunch was ready, and we have some free spots in the fridge now!
BTW, I have to memorise to not apply wax for depilation on my upper lip, when I have a sneeze. That part of my face is very, very sore now...
